Artist Christophe Brunnquell was the first artistic director of the cult fashion magazine Purple. He worked there for fifteen years, before becoming creative director of the luxury and fashion sections of the prestigious newspaper Le Figaro. He remained there for another fifteen years.
Throughout these thirty years, the artist frantically produced thousands of collages during his breaks. He kept them all in his Paris studio.
In 2022, his long-time friend Pascal Monfort asked him to choose 500 of them for a book: Ex Purple Ex Figaro.
Published by REC trends marketing, its format pays homage to that of the famous Italian Vogue and its typography is inherited from the first issues of Purple magazine.
